Albert Einstein famously said,
The important thing is not to stop questioning.
Curiosity has its own reason for existing.
At Educational Innovations, we agree wholeheartedly. Our company was founded by a master teacher in 1994. Today it’s still run by a dedicated crew of teachers who share a passion for science… and for fostering curiosity in kids.
Many nights we bring our work home with us—although I hesitate to refer to our materials as “work.” Whether it’s a vial of instant snow, a new set of the world’s most powerful neodymium magnets, or a chunk of petrified prehistoric wood… this stuff is so cool, we just HAVE to share it!
We are—as our slogan says—Teachers Serving Teachers™. But we’re also parents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors to all ages of children. We understand why the focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) is so important in our classrooms today. In fact, we believe that science isn’t just a school subject—it’s all around us!
It’s no surprise, then, that one morning after comparing notes on our most recent cool new discovery, we decided to create a new product that would allow others to bring “Super! Wow! Neat!”™ science into their own homes. After all, what can be more fun than sitting around your kitchen table doing science with your child?!? Sometimes our parents learn as much as their children with our kits. This is the perfect opportunity to get your kids away from their electronic devices and engage with you on a fun science adventure.
And thus was born the Home Science Lab subscription series.
“From our lab to yours,” as we like to say.
Every month, your young scientist will receive a box bursting with all the materials needed to perform five or more thrilling, engaging, sometimes disgusting, but always easy-to-understand experiments centered around a key topic. For example:
Slime, Seaweed & Polymer Blobs
Caves, Crystals & Mineral Treasures
Magnetic Field Fiesta
The Chemistry of Magic
Tabletop Fossil Safari
Bernoulli’s Flight Basics
Our Home Science Lab kits are bursting with unique hands-on materials. There is simply no substitute for the kind of sensory learning your children will experience in each month’s box.
One month your kids might be whipping up a batch of gooey slime as they explore the world of polymers…
Another month they’ll be learning about air pressure and fluid dynamics as they make a ping-pong ball stay lodged in a funnel, even when turned upside down…
They’ll delight in levitating magnets…
growing cave popcorn…
creating their own fossils…
painting beads with sunshine…
sorting ancient shark teeth…
creating an avalanche in a cup…
and much, much more.
They’ll be having so much fun with these unique hands-on projects, they might not even realize that they’re learning!
One final note: Our Home Science Labs wouldn’t be the same without the contributions of Bryce Hixson, a wonderful and witty science teacher who wrote our Lab Notebooks and designed our keepsake box covered with hand-drawn characters whose wacky expressions confirm that science is fun and—let’s be honest here—sometimes a bit goofy!
To those who have already subscribed to our monthly series—whether for 1, 3 or 6 months—we say “Thank you for inviting us into your home.” To those who haven’t tried the Home Science Lab experience yet, we’re looking forward to sharing this science adventure with you!
From our lab to yours,
The teachers at Educational Innovations
Thanks for your work on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
I would appreciate knowing the topic of the kits. Can we choose a topic. I already have some science kit materials and I don’t want duplication. I would like to order 3 months of kits.
Hi Lynn,
Our kits are set up as automatic sends. The one month kit is Slime, Seaweed, and Polymer Blobs. If you sign up for the three month subscription, you receive kit one and then a box with Earth Science materials is number two (Caves, Crystals and Mineral Treasures. And the thrird month box is Magnetic Field Fiesta. We also sell many of the materials separately if you would prefer to create your own science experiments to do with your children. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like any additional information.
